Classic American Cheeseburger

Ingredients:

  • 500g ground beef (80/20 blend)
  • 4 hamburger buns
  • 4 slices of American cheese
  • Lettuce leaves
  • Tomato slices
  • Pickle slices
  • Ketchup, mustard, and mayonnaise
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1 tbsp butter

Instructions:

  1. Divide ground beef into 4 equal portions and shape them into patties. Season both sides with salt and pepper.
  2. Heat a skillet or grill over medium-high heat. Cook the patties for about 3-4 minutes per side, or until they reach your desired doneness.
  3. Place a slice of cheese on each patty during the last minute of cooking to let it melt.
  4. Toast the buns with butter in the skillet or on the grill until golden brown.
  5. Assemble the burgers with lettuce, tomato, pickles, and your preferred condiments on the buns. Top with the cheeseburger patty and serve.


     


Barbecue Pulled Pork

Ingredients:

  • 1.5 kg pork shoulder (or pork butt)
  • 1 cup barbecue sauce
  • 1/2 cup apple cider vinegar
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp smoked paprika
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp cayenne pepper (optional)
  • 8 hamburger buns
  • Coleslaw, for serving

Instructions:

  1. Mix paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, cumin, salt, pepper, and cayenne (if using) in a bowl. Rub the spice mixture all over the pork.
  2. Place the pork in a slow cooker and pour in the apple cider vinegar. Cook on low for 8-10 hours, or until the meat is tender and easily shredded.
  3. Remove the pork from the slow cooker and shred it with two forks. Discard excess fat.
  4. Mix the shredded pork with barbecue sauce and return to the slow cooker for 30 minutes to heat through.
  5. Serve on hamburger buns with coleslaw.

Buffalo Chicken Wings

Ingredients:
  • 1 kg chicken wings, cut into drumettes and flats
  • 1/2 cup hot sauce (like Frank's RedHot)
  • 1/4 cup melted butter
  • 1 tbsp vinegar
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp paprika
  • Oil for frying
  • Celery sticks and blue cheese dressing, for serving
Instructions:
  1. Heat oil in a deep fryer or large pot to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Pat chicken wings dry with paper towels and fry them in batches for 10-12 minutes until crispy and cooked through. Drain on paper towels.
  3. In a large bowl, mix hot sauce, melted butter, vinegar, garlic powder, and paprika.
  4. Toss the fried wings in the sauce until evenly coated.
  5. Serve hot with celery sticks and blue cheese dressing.
